She reveals her secrets for hacking LA Combi Addie jumpsuit into a breathtaking dress.
Addie is the meeting between two brands that I have always loved since they were created. This playsuit was designed especially for the 10th anniversary of Atelier Brunette and the 5th anniversary of Fibre Mood.
I immediately imagined this jumpsuit as a dress. Transforming a pattern and making it your own is always an exciting challenge.
I created this tutorial with the help of Teresa, the talented stylist from Fibre Mood so that it is as accurate as possible and accompanies you with accessible technical instructions. I also learned a lot and wanted to pass on this expertise to you.
It’s THE meeting between THE style and THE comfort to accessorise as desired.
Julie’s height is 1,68 meters. She sewed LA Combi Addie in size M with our FUJI NIGHT fabric FROM THE EMPREINTE COLLECTION!
Big chic boots or cool sneakers, everything suits it!
- The LA Combie Addie sewing pattern
- 3 meters of fabric (width 1,40 meters)
- 45 cm of Vlieseline G710
- A matching 40 cm invisible zipper
- Matching thread and serger thread
- A ruler and a pencil
- Tracing paper and scissors
To sew (with love): all materials with a little hold such as cotton, cotton blends, linen, viscose linen, cotton linen…
I love the Atelier Brunette colors and the abstract brushstroke print. I also like the way this fabric drapes.
It’s perfect for this model, as a jumpsuit or as a dress!

Read this before you start sewing your LA Combie Addie!
To create this version, I made some modifications which I detail here. To sew this variation, sew the pieces exactly like the LA Combie Addie, and skip steps 8 and 10 for assembling the fork.

Trace pieces 4 (front trousers) and 5 (back trousers). Remember to record the markers carefully.

Cut the part with the fork.
And now you have your front skirt piece!

Cut along this line.
Mark a notch about 4.5 cm below the cutting line.

To assemble the dress, follow all the steps in the jumpsuit instructions. When sewing the mid-back skirt (which corresponds to step 7), stop the seam about 30 cm from the bottom (to be comfortable and above all to be able to walk, or run if necessary!)
