Today she shares her secrets for sewing LE Trench coat with elegance, a simple idea, but terribly effective!

Julie is 1.68m tall and sewed THE Trench in size 40 because she terribly likes to oversize the models she sews (so quickly).

ADD A BUTTONED WRIST STRAP

THE COMPONENTS

- A scrap of water-repellent cotton fabric

- 2 to 4 buttons of 20 mm

THE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Transfer the following template onto kraft paper or pattern paper. (Here, the measurements are for a size 40). Cut this pattern piece from your fabric scrap.

Assemble 2 pieces together, right sides facing, then turn them right side out.

Make the buttonhole on each tab.

Before closing the sides of the Trench (step 14), insert the tab between the layers, in the center of the visible wrist.

Iron to orient the tab towards the back of the sleeve.

Finish by sewing 1 or 2 buttons on each side.

TIP: opt for a decorative version with a single button, or add a second button 5 cm away to be able to adjust the wrist.
